A CYCLE COMPLETE, MOTION FROM STILLNESS

🤍 Happy Near Year!
The turn of the year has a particular quality to it. Of course there’s the familiar language around fresh starts and clean slates, but what tends to feel more interesting is the quieter shift underneath all of the surface level goings on. That moment when the intensity of the year behind us begins to loosen its grip and there’s a little more space to take stock of how things have actually felt.
Winter brings space naturally. A slowing of pace. A chance to restore and reflect on those heady summer months - where we tend to live with more abandon, more outward momentum, more readily available energy.
The days around the Solstice often mark that pause... less as an event, more as a threshold. A point of transition that invites a check-in. How did the last year land? What did you love? What surprised you? What quietly ran its course? There’s no urgency in those questions. They’re simply there to be noticed.
This year for me, that threshold was marked quietly, on retreat, in ceremony. To be inside the stillness before things begin to move again. And now, as the New Year settles in, that sense of reflection feels ongoing rather than complete.
We’re closing more than a single year. We’re at the end of a nine-year cycle - a period often associated with completion, integration, and release. I don’t experience that as an ending so much as a gathering-in. A sense that things are clarifying. That what comes forward next feels more intentional.
Of course soon we will also be reaching the closure of the Year of the Snake. I’ve come to associate the snake energy less with dramatic transformation and more with discernment. Shedding what no longer fits. Acting from intuition rather than urgency. Letting refinement happen quietly.
That tone has been present throughout this past year... a steady stripping back, a preference for depth over noise, fewer declarations and more embodied knowing.
I’ve felt that strongly within VERVE.
What continues to surprise me is how naturally it evolves. Conversations deepen. The community sharpens its sense of itself. Ideas feel less conceptual and more lived. There’s a steadiness to it.
As we move towards the Year of the Horse, the energy begins to shift. Where the snake refines, the horse moves. There’s momentum here, but not recklessness. Motion guided by feeling rather than force. Action that comes from alignment rather than impatience. That distinction matters I think.
VERVE has always been about creating space where something real can happen - where presence leads and connection follows 🤍 And as this new phase unfolds, there’s a sense of forward pull that feels exciting in a grounded way. Not louder, just clearer.
The new year doesn’t need to arrive with declarations or pressure. Sometimes it’s enough to notice what feels ready. To trust the direction that’s beginning to form.
A cycle complete, motion gathering and plenty of space for what comes next!
